Our future - Fearing, Jerry, 1930-

Response to the Love Canal disaster of 1978. Residents of Love Canal in Niagara Falls, NY, discovered that their neighborhood sat atop buried chemical waste. The waste leached into their homes and led to abnormally high rates of miscarriages and unexplained illnesses. On August 7, the situation was declared a federal health emergency by President Carter.
