Pieta - Aguila, Dani, 1928-

Ediotrial cartoon mourning the passing of Italian statesman, and leader of the Christian Democracy party, Aldo Moro. Moro was murdered by a left-wing militia as he tried to contruct an alliance between his own party and the Italian socialists. Moro is pictured in the style of Pieta, Michelangelo's sculpture of Mary holding the body of Jesus.
